Football Drills 4 Corners Box Drill
Football Drills 4 Corners Box Drill
Objective of Football Drill: Complete drill for developing football speed and agility in all directions.
Action of Football Drill: Set up 4 cones (4 corners), 7 yards apart in the shape of a
"box". Player begins at right or left corner , karaoke's to left or right to next
corner, sprints straight forward to next corner, back-peddles (diagonally) to
opposite corner (starting point), sprints forward to next corner, back-peddles
(diagonally) to opposite corner, sprints forward and around all four corners
finishing at the opposite corner that they started. (Phew!)
This is an excellent, all encompassing drill to measure overall football
agility, speed burst, and endurance. Two reps are a good workout.
Players who excel at this drill should be rated as the best football athletes.
Coaching Points: Coach will have to demonstrate the drill. All direction changes
should be crisp, and change of directions should not be "rounded". Coach will have to motivate throughout the drill and remind the player of the
next "move".
